A Great Lamp

Synopsis

Set in a small riverside town in North Carolina, two sad vandals and an unemployed loner form an unlikely friendship as they await a fabled rocket launch. Directed by UNCSA alum Saad Qureshi and featuring alums in every key role, the experimental narrative recently had premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival. Two brief but strangely moving title cards at the film’s conclusion tell you all you need to know about its heartbeat: “Last fall our friend Saad was going through some very sad times. He had an idea for a film so we all got together and made it with him for Christmas. We thought it might make him feel better.”
