Synopsis

This film is a formally daring and musically rapturous collage film exploring three perspectives of the Eritrean diaspora. We are introduced to Haile, a homesick cab driver who recently moved to San Francisco, along with a series of other Eritrean immigrants, including the filmmaker herself, who is interrogated by her mother regarding the wisdom behind making a film in such an untraditional and freeform way. The common thread between all, however, is that they each are struggling to reconcile their newly forged American personas against the identities they left behind in their homeland.

Director Sephora Woldu to be in attendance for 4/5 and 4/6 screenings
